The birth of
Park Hotel Argento
The land in Località Moltedi, once abandoned, was adorned by a beautiful pine forest, with imposing trees that still stand majestically today. On the steep slope, the women of the village used to gather pine nuts and aromatic herbs to prepare the famous “Gattafin” from Levanto.
Rina and Guido Defilippi – from these two individuals came the name “aRGento” – the progenitors of an entrepreneurial family from Levanto, together with their sons Virginio and Massimo, envisioned on that typical Ligurian slope a hotel that was missing in the Levanto offering.
At the end of the last century, within the framework of a project aimed at enhancing the tourist offer of Levanto, the Municipality and the Regional authorities finally granted permission for the construction of a four-star hotel. .

The works began in 2003
Architect Berio’s project aimed to create a building that evoked the atmosphere of a Ligurian village, harmoniously integrating with the surrounding landscape.
After six long years of constant work and numerous sleepless nights, Virginio and Massimo finally reached the opening day, hopeful that this new venture would be a success. The prerequisites were all there: a wonderful location, a relaxing atmosphere, and overwhelming enthusiasm.
On June 29, 2009, Park Hotel Argento opened its doors, marking the beginning of a new opportunity for growth in the hospitality offer of Levanto and creating a positive synergy that made the hotel unique and welcoming.
The hotel soon became a renowned destination for those seeking an unforgettable experience on the Ligurian coast, the gateway to the famous Cinque Terre, always maintaining a focus on details and a passion for serving customers.
This story demonstrates that patience, perseverance, and consistency can transform a dream into a tangible reality.
Today, Park Hotel Argento continues to thrive as a unique destination where guests can experience the beauty of Liguria and the warmth of Italian hospitality.

About us
A drive through hills with pretty villages on both sides ends at the beach town of Levanto (2,471miles), the gateway to Cinque Terre’s world-renowned ports of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.
Hotel Park Argento with its pool, spa and picture-window restaurant is a splendid place to stay, thanks to general manager Carlo Lazzeri who has worked in nearby Portofino and in London looking after film director Michael Winner and Princess Diana. Chef Michael Nicora’s creations include octopus stewed with potatoes and slowly cooked pig cheek. Fried ravioli filled with Ligurian herbs is a delightful surprise.
The hotel’s shuttle goes to Levanto’s train station which is the best way to visit the Cinque Terre. Avoiding crowds by taking side streets we happen upon a tiny square with an arch framing a magnificent sea view. And then it’s time to head home through the Mont Blanc Tunnel, into France’s Jura mountains and on to Calais for our sixth and final sea crossing to Folkestone (3,409 road miles, 800 sea miles, no potholes).
